About Nonna

Nonna’s small kitchen was the heart and soul of our family. With only a humble stove and her iconic white Corningware coffee pot bubbling from dawn till dusk, she created a world where everyone felt loved, welcomed, and nourished. As the proud mother of five and grandmother of nine, Nonna’s home was never empty. Children, grandchildren, neighbors, and friends found their way to her cozy kitchen daily—not just for her food, but for the feeling of belonging she poured into every hug, every cup of coffee, and every dish she served. Her motto was simple but shaped our lives: “There’s always room for one more.”

Every Sunday was magical. Laughter, conversation, and the irresistible aroma of her famous Sunday sauce and meatballs filled the air. Handmade ravioli danced in simmering pots, and each meal ended with a small glass of anisette liqueur and strong black coffee. Around Nonna’s small dining table, worries melted away and family ties grew stronger. These weren’t just meals—they were experiences, stories, and lessons in love.

Hi, I’m Vivian, the creator of Nonna’s Recipes—a heartfelt tribute to my late grandmother, Margaret, my Nonna. Growing up, I spent countless hours at her side in that kitchen filled with the aromas of simmering tomato sauces, freshly baked bread, and the magic of her secret recipes. Nonna worked tirelessly to prepare wonderful meals that brought our family and friends together, creating a lifetime of cherished memories and instilling in me a deep appreciation for our traditions.

To honor her legacy, I began sharing these beloved family recipes online as a way to celebrate our heritage and ensure those timeless flavors live on. Collaborating with my mom and her sisters to recreate Nonna’s dishes has been a joyful journey of remembering, storytelling, and cooking. Together, we’ve turned those moments into recipes that are accessible to both seasoned cooks and beginners alike.

This isn’t just a recipe website—it’s an invitation. An invitation to gather your loved ones, to laugh over simmering pots, to share stories at the table, and to create your own traditions. My hope is that these recipes not only fill your kitchen with the same aromas I grew up with but also help you build your own traditions and memories around the table. Because Nonna taught us something beautiful: food isn’t just food. It’s family, it’s memories, it’s love. From my family to yours, welcome to Nonna’s Recipes let’s cook, share and make memories.

Enjoy!
