Fresh Tomato Salad
Nothing says summer better than a fresh garden tomato salad. It is best to use a high-quality olive oil (see our selection under shop).
Ingredients
2 ripe beefsteak tomatoes
1 red onion sliced thin
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
8 large basil leaves
Directions
1. Cut the tomatoes in ½ than cut each half into 4 pieces (8 pieces per tomato).
2. Place in bowl, add the red onion slices.
3. Add the olive oil, salt, and pepper. Taste and add more seasonings if needed.
4. Cut the basil into pieces, add to the bowl and toss.
5. Set the salad aside for at least 30 minutes to get the full flavor of the juices.
6. Enjoy with fresh Italian bread.,
