Sautéed Mushrooms
This side dish is quick, easy, versatile, and flavorful. Pairs well with steak, burgers, lamb, and pork.
Ingredients
1 lb button mushrooms (or your favorite) cleaned and sliced
1 sweet onion sliced thin
2 shallots- sliced thin
¼ cup cooking sherry
½ stick butter
¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
Steps:
1. Cover the bottom of the skillet with olive oil, heat and add the butter. Let melt
2. Add salt, pepper, and onion slices. Sauté till onion is translucent.
3. Add the mushrooms and sauté a few minutes till golden brown. Add the red wine. Stir and let simmer. Taste and add more seasonings if needed.
